"Birds of Darkness": instigators and advocates of sedition

The Saudi people's unique celebration thwarted plots of incitement and sedition against them. Those who lie in wait, lurking in the hope of undermining or inciting against the Kingdom, are launching systematic campaigns against Saudi Arabia to defame and undermine it, using misleading campaigns that harbor lies and fabricated news to undermine the Kingdom's pivotal role, international influence, and global reputation. They believe that such practices could hinder the Kingdom's development and contribute to fueling hate speech and blind incitement against its leadership, security, and stability.

Every now and then, Saudi Arabia is subjected to fierce incitement campaigns, leaving no stone unturned. Instigators use social media platforms to influence society and achieve their goals. Their latest attempt was the Riyadh Season drones, which occupied their platforms and minds, only to be met with a celebratory response from the conscious Saudi people. The drones' movements reflect the community's understanding of the plots being hatched against it by advocates of incitement and sedition.

Intellectual crisis... and spoiled plans

Sociologist Talal Al-Nashri asserted that some proponents of incitement are experiencing an intellectual crisis reflected in their anti-Saudi arguments. They seize every opportunity in the hope of undermining the progress, prosperity, development, urbanization, and advancements the Kingdom is experiencing under its wise leadership, which is spearheading the drive for development and progress, fulfilling the Kingdom's vision to meet changing needs, reflect the Kingdom's ambitions and capabilities, and ensure the full realization of Vision 2030.

He said: “Society’s awareness of the goals of the advocates of sedition and incitement has thwarted their plans and created a strong barrier and a solid fighter against anyone who incites hatred, racism and exclusion against this country. The inciters are spread across many sites, some of whom appear under their own names and others under pseudonyms. They are active on social media and behind the scenes. Their movements are like bats of darkness, fueled by hatred, envy and the wish for the loss of blessings. The incitement advocates use all methods of rumors, fabricating accusations and belittling all efforts for development and progress, as part of their agendas of evil and destruction. They even attack achievements even if they strip those they target of their religion, morals, principles and even their patriotism, not caring about the corruption their incitement causes. They delude people into believing that what they are practicing is criticism for the sake of reform, while they hide their agenda of destructive intentions like bats.”

Foreign hands and the destruction of societies

Retired Major General Abdullah Jadawi, a security expert, emphasized that the foreign hands attempting to undermine the nation's security are well known, but what's even more sinister is when the instigator incites against his homeland to achieve a deviant agenda, seeking to destroy societies and attempting to seize upon events to practice incitement. Therefore, it's everyone's duty to block any renegade, delusional person, or instigator.

He explained that it is essential to uncover their motives and objectives to facilitate confronting them, guarding against them, and halting their activities. The instigator pretends to be friendly in order to gain trust before launching his propaganda against society, thus beginning the incitement phase.

He added, "The instigators have exploited every opportunity. We still remember how they exploited the sacred ritual (Hajj) in their political schemes to achieve their goal of harming and distorting the Kingdom. They expected that politicizing the Hajj ritual would turn it into a media and popular snowball in the Islamic world, rolling until they achieved their goals."

Major General Al-Jadawi emphasized that Saudi Arabia, since its founder, King Abdulaziz, has been subjected to numerous smear campaigns annually from various parties, but these campaigns are shattered by a conscious people who are aware of their malicious schemes.

He added: “We are living in a different era, filled with ambition and optimism, and we are achieving approximately 87% of the goals of Vision 2030, which was launched on April 25, 2016, after the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Prince Mohammed bin Salman, assumed leadership of the Kingdom.”

Warning against advocates of sedition

The General Secretariat of the Council of Senior Scholars in Saudi Arabia warned against the danger of rumors, including receiving, broadcasting, and circulating them, especially if they affect the supreme interests of religion and the nation, harm the cohesion and unity of society, or harm its leaders, scholars, security personnel, and prominent figures. The report explained that reports have revealed a large number of fake accounts on social media whose goal is to spread rumors and incite discord in Saudi Arabia, especially after their efforts have failed in numerous attempts to achieve their despicable goals throughout the Kingdom's history.

The Authority pointed out that the misleading and discordant channels have fueled many sectarian and religious conflicts and have become a mouthpiece for terrorist groups. Their goal is to "dismember countries and scatter peoples. Neither they nor the regimes that sponsor them care about the interests of the peoples of the region. They starve to death, are divided into sects, scatter into factions, or are fragmented into parties."

She warned against websites and channels that incite discord and strife, and those who "advocate tearing apart homelands, tampering with their unity, inciting strife, and fomenting division."

The General Secretariat of the Council of Senior Scholars stressed that “one of God’s blessings upon Saudi Arabia is its territorial integrity and strong security, governed by leaders who are serious and resolute in preserving this unity and this nation under the banner of ‘There is no god but God, and Muhammad is the Messenger of God.’”

She emphasized that "this great blessing must be appreciated and preserved. The state, with its judicial and security apparatus and its loyal, conscientious people, is capable of preserving security and stability, enhancing prosperity, and strengthening its Arab and Islamic leadership and global influence in a way that serves Islam, Muslims, and humanity in general."

Punishment for violating public order

Legal advisor, Attorney Majed Al-Ahmari, confirmed that Article 6 of the Anti-Cybercrime Law stipulates that anyone who produces, prepares, sends, or stores anything that may harm public order, religious values, public morals, or the sanctity of private life via the Internet or a computer shall be punished by imprisonment for a period not exceeding five years and a fine not exceeding three million riyals, or by either of these two penalties.

He pointed out that Article 9 stipulates that anyone who incites, assists, or agrees with another to commit any of the crimes stipulated in this system, if the crime occurs as a result of such incitement, assistance, or agreement, shall be punished with a penalty not exceeding the maximum penalty prescribed for it, and shall be punished with a penalty not exceeding half the maximum penalty prescribed for it if the original crime does not occur.
